Is AI-written content hurting your digital footprint?

Whatever your stance on AI, it is undeniably attractive to see how quickly you can generate a month’s worth of content in mere moments. Want a blog post written on the 5 ways that car detailing can help slow down the depreciation of your vehicle? You’ve got it in seconds; copy, paste, publish, rank higher.

But that’s not quite the full story...

Regurgitating the same point.

With the rise of AI written content comes the rise of unoriginal content. These are lengthy 5,000+ word articles covering all bases of the niche topic you prompted it to write. With this, search engines and generative search engines are prioritising human-written, original content.

This is content that adds to the conversation, rather than repeating what’s already been said. This is content that has opinions on which paint colours look good on a south-facing windowless wall or which local pizza spots get the best cheese pull.

Where do we go from here?

Your way to a better website, or better digital content isn’t by putting your feet up and writing a prompt, it’s by sharing your expertise and opinion and revising said opinion as the years develop. AI can be utilised as an incredibly strong tool but shouldn't be the whole worker.
