Tips on How to Increase Social Media Engagement

There are many ways on how to increase your social media engagement, but we have put together some of our favourite tips!

Respond to All Comments

You need to be social as well to increase your social media engagement. If a customer sends you a message or leaves a comment you are being given an opportunity to talk to them, no matter if it is positive or negative. If they leave a positive message, then show your appreciation and if they leave a negative comment then suggest a resolution. The only time you shouldn’t respond to people is when they tag someone else in your post because they aren’t directly engaging with you.

Run Contests and Giveaways

This is the easiest way to increase your social media engagement. For people to enter the contest you can make them like or follow your page or sign up for something through the website so that’s gets some traffic. You will need to give away a prize, which could be one of your products or services.

Use Images in all of your Posts

According to recent studies, tweets that have images attached gain 150% more retweets than tweets that don’t include any. This is because images grab people’s attention when they are scrolling through their newsfeed/timeline than just plain text. All you need to do is add relevant images to your posts to increase your social media engagement.

Ask Questions

When you post on any social media, ask questions as this is an easy way to engage with your customers. Asking a question that is relevant and fun is a great way to get your customers to leave comments on your posts. Always make sure that it includes your product or service that you offer!

Share Content that is Relevant

Find out more about your customers and what they like, think about whether they would prefer to see videos, images or blog posts so you can focus on creating what they would like to see. You will need to experiment with different types of content until you find out which one gets the most engagement.

Weekly Twitter Chats

Take part in Twitter Business #Hours, we find that this is a great way to get in touch with other businesses that do similar work and to create new relationships. There are also local business #hours to where you are based, this is a great way to keep in touch with the local community and speak to local customers.
