Keywords are the phrases that people will search online when trying to find a specific product or service, the best keywords are probably the ones that are 2 to 5 words long. When you start adding keywords to your content you will stand a better chance of ranking on Google for those phrases. Google thinks that pages that include keywords are more relevant that pages that don’t, so adding keywords to your content will make a massive difference on whether someone will find your content through Google.

You need to find words that best link to your potential clients, think what the phrases people are would type into Google to find your product or service.

Your On-Page SEO

After researching your keywords and adding them to your website you need to start focusing on your on-page SEO to reach a maximum SEO impact. Your SEO title should include:

  • Your business name, main keyword and location

  • The title length should be 60-65 characters long.

  • Your pages should have unique titles, they need to differ from your homepage title.

Your SEO description should include:

  • More than one keyword so when someone searches for a query it will be included in your description.

  • The description should be around 160 characters long.

Adding Alt Text to your Images

Alt text is a text description that search engines need to understand what is on your images. Google and other search engines can’t see what your images look like, so by adding alt text they will understand what is on the image. When adding alt text to images, it is a good idea to include some keywords that are relevant as this will let your images be found on Google Image Search and improving your SEO.

Adding your Location

Even though your website lives online, your business is located in a specific area and your customers will come from your surroundings. Most customers will find out where you are located through searching online so you need to invest into your local SEO. By investing into your local SEO, it will make it possible for your website to rank well in Googles results when people search for your specific area. Your location needs to be added to your SEO title, description and the text in your homepage.
